The Recreation Center opened June 1. New safety precautions are in place, and users are required to reserve a one-hour time slot online for one of six workout zones which each accommodate up to 10 people. The lap pool will open Monday, June 8. One-hour lap lane reservations will be available on-line. Lap lanes are limited to one person per lane per hour. Restrooms and showers are open, while lockers remain closed.
The Miller Activity Complex is currently being used exclusively for our Summer Camp programming and is not open to the general public. The Town’s parks, open spaces and trails are open and the Challenge Hill is open for one-way use.
The Town received approval from the Tri-County Health Department to operate licensed day camps. All camps are now open and registration is currently available. More information available at CRgov.com/Camps.
Organized recreational youth or adult league sports may resume with no more than 25 players outdoors or 10 players indoors. Our youth athletic programs are now scheduled to start June 8 and adult athletics will start June 15 for the summer session.

Playgrounds – including the FitGround at PSM Park and outdoor sports facilities, such as the skate park, basketball, tennis and pickleball courts are now open for use for no more than 10 people at at time. Park pavilions, picnic areas, group gathering areas are open for use for no more than 10 people at a time.
Outdoor pools will open June 22 by reservation only for a 90-minute time slot. The pool is limited to 50 people at a time, with bathrooms and showers open, but lockers will remain closed. Frequently touched surfaces, shared objects and bathrooms will be cleaned and disinfected between each reservation time slot. Reservation times will be available 48-hours in advance.

Please remember to practice social distancing, maintain a distance of at least 6 feet, additionally, local health officials recommend wearing a face covering while in public. The intent remains to limit interactions to only those within your own household. Good hygiene – like not touching your face, and washing your hands well, and often – also remains important.
The Castle Rock Recreation Center has a wide offering of active senior classes, which are free with your daily admissions. We are also a proud member of the SilverSneakers network of fitness facilities.
Anyone is welcome to attend all classes, including SilverSneakers, regardless whether or not you qualify for the SilverSneakers program.

The SilverSneakers® Fitness Program is a unique physical activity, lifestyle and socially oriented program designed to encourage physical activity and foster an active lifestyle. Senior Walk & Weights
Walk your way to better health with strength training using tubing. Improve balance and agility with this class.
Meets at the track located downstairs.
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is available if needed for seated or standing support.
Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper-body strength work with and-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball is alternated with low-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is used for standing support. stretching and relaxation exercises.
Get up and go with an aerobics class that's safe, heart-healthy and gentle on the joints. The workout includes easy-to-follow low-impact movement, and upper-body strength, abdominal conditioning, stretching and relaxation exercised designed to energize your active lifestyle.
SilverSneakers Yoga will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and metal clarity.
Stability and Balance
Get stronger and improve your balance through exercises that strengthen the ankle, knee, and hip joints all in a fun and social setting. This class is designed specifically for fall prevention.
Stretch and Core
Increase flexibility and range of motion and strengthen your entire core in this 60 minute format. Appropriate for all fitness levels.
Zumba Gold targets the larges growing segment of the population - baby boomers. It takes the Zumba formula and modifies the moves and pacing to suit the needs of the active older participant, as well as those just starting their journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle. What stays the same are all the elements the Zumba Fitness-Party is known for: the zest Latin music, like salsa, merengue, cumbia and reggaeton; the exhilarating, easy-to-follow moves; and the invigorating, party-like atmosphere. Active older adults want camaraderie, excitement and fitness as a regular part of the weekly schedule. Zumba Gold is the perfect fit.
