Three new deep groundwater Denver Basin wells are being built in an open area south of Crystal Valley Parkway at Plum Creek Boulevard on a parcel dedicated to the Town. The wells are needed to accommodate peak demand during the irrigation season. These wells will produce approximately 1 million gallons of water and connect to the Plum Creek Water Purification Facility. Drilling of the wells, construction of the well facility and the connection of the wells to Plum Creek Water Purification Facility is scheduled from October 2018 through May 2020.
This property is also slated for development of a future Lanterns Park.
January 2021 update: This project is substantially complete with revegetation scheduled for spring 2021.
The construction contract was awarded to Hydro Resources – Rocky Mountain, Inc. with a project cost of approximately $3.9 million. HEI and Global are additional construction contractors on site.
There are no road closures scheduled. However, the corner at Plum Creek Boulevard and Portmeirion Lane is the construction access point and residents should expect heavy construction traffic at this location. Residents can also expect some construction equipment traveling along Crystal Valley Parkway and south to Plum Creek Boulevard. For safety considerations, some lane closures may periodically be in effect.
