Residents know Castle Rock is a great place to be. Our Town is consistently listed among the best places to live in the state, and maintaining our community’s character is a top priority. Help make sure Castle Rock is headed in the right direction by volunteering for a Town board or commission.Every year in May, each board and commission has positions with terms that will expire. Additionally, incumbents must reapply if they are interested in continuing their service. The Town currently has several vacancies within its boards and commissions.The 11 advisory boards and commissions provide public feedback to Town Council and staff regarding community issues. The Town Clerk is currently accepting applications for vacancies. Applications must be received by 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 24.The boards and commissions that have vacancies are:• Board of Adjustment (three vacancies)• Board of Building Appeals (two vacancies)• Castle Rock Water Commission (three vacancies)• Design Review Board (three vacancies) *must be a Downtown property owner• Historic Preservation Board (three vacancies)• Parks and Recreation Commission (three vacancies)• Planning Commission (three vacancies)• Public Art Commission (three vacancies)• Public Safety Commission (five vacancies)• Public Works Commission (three vacancies)Most terms are two years unless otherwise noted. Interested applicants must be a Castle Rock resident.
