Rise up for the challenge - Climb4Change event May 11

Climb4Change Event May 11

Are you up for pushing your body to the limit? How about challenging yourself at Climb4Change to help benefit a worthy cause? Join the fifth annual Climb4Change event Saturday, May 11 to help raise money and awareness for the Town’s Adaptive Recreation program.

The Adaptive Recreation program supports members of the community, and their families, who have cognitive and physical disabilities and helps them live a more active lifestyle. Funds raised at this event are used to provide scholarships and adaptive equipment.

The event will include five races held from 8 a.m. to noon on the Challenge Hill at Philip S. Miller Park. Unique to Castle Rock, the 200-step incline offers a challenging workout and a great way to give back. The Climb4Change races are:

  • Power Hour – up and down the stairs for 60 minutes straight. The record is 18 laps!
  • Trail Reps – this course will take you up the stairs and back down the half-mile trail, and repeat. You’ll have 30 minutes to beat the record of six laps.
  • ClimbNRun 5K – new to the race lineup this year! Climb the stairs, down the switchbacks, and finish through the scenic park trails.
  • Race to the Top – head up the 200 steps once as fast as possible. Can you beat the record of 61 seconds?
  • Run4Fun – this untimed event allows you to support the program in a noncompetitive way.

Registration includes coffee, snacks, a participation medal and T-shirt. Fees range from $18 to $40, depending on the course and when you register. Kids under 5 are free. Head to CRgov.com/Climb4Change for more information and registration.

On-site packet pickup and registration begins at 7 a.m. the day of the event. Power Hour begins at 8 a.m.; the Trail Reps begins at 9:25 a.m.; the ClimbNRun 5K begins at 10:15 a.m.; Race to the Top begins at 11 a.m.; and the Run4Fun event begins at 11:30 a.m. Results and prizes will be awarded at noon.

Looking to get more involved? Become a volunteer or fundraiser. Entry fees are waved for fundraisers who raise more than $100. Contact Race Coordinator, Alex Sarabia, at 303-814-7455 or asarabia@CRgov.com for more information.
