Pedal yourself to work on Bike to Work Day Wednesday, June 26. On your way, stop by Festival Park Breakfast Station from 6 – 9:30 a.m. for a free breakfast hosted by the Town for bicyclists (and walkers and runners).
Participants will also enjoy giveaways and prizes from a variety of event sponsors. This year, participants have a chance to win punch cards to the MAC and Recreation Center, Epic Sky Park passes, concert tickets, a round of golf for four at Red Hawk Ridge Golf Course, bike tune-ups, or gift cards to some of Castle Rock’s most popular restaurants and businesses.
To participate, just bike, carpool, walk or rollerblade to work, and stop by Festival Park on your way. Registration is not required, but those who do, will be entered into a drawing for additional prizes from the Denver Regional Council of Governments. (Participants do not have to preregister for a chance to win local prizes.) Registration online, at biketoworkday.us.
This year’s event sponsors for the Town include Castle Rock Adventist Hospital, Castle Rock Bike + Ski, All Health Network, Castle Rock Adventure Park, King Soopers, Santiago's, Elements Massage, Mountain Man Fruit and Nut Company, Town of Castle Rock Community Events, Town of Castle Rock Parks and Recreation, Red Hawk Ridge Golf Course, Wild Blue Yonder Brewery, Heartline Family Clinic, Bar Nails Salon, Ecclesia, Crowfoot Valley Coffee.
Bike to Work Day is an annual event to raise awareness of other ways to get where you are going. Sponsored by the Denver Regional Council of Governments, the goal is to promote bicycling as a commuting choice in hopes workers will try it and form a healthy habit of riding to work.
